As the corona virus spreads and cations are put in place, much fear and concern are entering our minds and hearts. God will never abandon us; God is with us through this time. Let us look at some signs.
Pope John Paul II has reminded us that the phrase of “Be Not Afraid” is in the Bible 365 times. It could be a coincidence, but it seems that God wants to assure us to not be afraid. It appears 365 times, once for every day of the year.
Here are also some of the many Bible verses about worrying (or should I say, not worrying)
No matter what it is we go through or are going through in life, Jesus teaches us to Trust in Him. He gave us His image in the Divine Mercy when He appeared to St. Faustina. If we trust in Him, all will be ok. Jesus is with us in this time of precautions and for those who might be sick. It is all truly in His hands. He would not have told us all He did if it were not true.
Also, we can look at the Blessings in the midst of the hardships. Our culture has been being isolated by the technology age, computers, tablets and phones. Now, because many things like school and work are cancelled, or people doing school or work from home, families are together again. Family units are getting or will get stronger again. As the evil of the coronavirus sweeps through the country, love and unity and trust in God is growing.
The Blessings can outweigh the problems, pain and suffering when we Trust in Him.
Trust in Him, and as Psalm 55 says, when we put our cares on Him, He will sustain us.
The Eucharist
Mass is being celebrated every day privately. Although we cannot gather for Mass, the Blessing from His Body and Blood is still blessing all of you.
You may also pray a Spiritual Communion, where you reflect on His gift of His Body and Blood and thank Him for the Blessing of that gift and sacrifice.
I encourage you to watch a mass on TV each day, read the readings, (you may want to read my reflections) and join during the Communion time in a Spiritual reception of His Blessings from His Passion Death and Resurrection in His Body and Blood.
